Choose this lens with a D700 or better
I was in RITZ camera talking about my D80 and I was shown a D700 with this lens. We then put the same lens on my D80. OMG! NO COMPARISON. You got much more field of view with a D700 or better.

The D80's processor/field of view was much smaller compared to the D700 and this lens.

The rep (who is a semi-pro photographer) recommended this lens with the D700 or better because of this.

what are you waiting for?
the BEST wide angle lens, ever. SHARP, good color and contrast. just be careful of the exposed front element as it does not take filters.

Dreamy lens
Just returned from a landscape workshop and, of my four lenses (24-70, 70-200, & 50/1.4), I found myself returning to this lens time and time again. The optical quality is just superb. The contrast and clarity of the images are startling. Because of the bulbous front element which reminds me of "Hal" from "2001-A Space Odyssey", no filters will fit this lens.

Near Perfect on DX or FX
This is the dogz bollox when it comes to sharpness, contrast, colour rendition and clarity. Spend the money, don't whine about the weight and be amazed at the pictures you will produce.
